I decided to take an intensive course because I wanted to pass my driving test as soon as possible. Paul was a brilliant teacher and helped me learn everything in a way that was good for me. I did 10 hours of lessons leading up to a week where I did a 30 hour intensive course. I really enjoyed learning to drive and Paul is really friendly and puts you at ease straight away. Paul is a great instructor, he takes the time to teach you how to drive not just pass your test, even if like me you are not a “natural”. His standards are high because it makes you a better driver. He explains things clearly and helps you along at your own pace, if your having difficulty with a certain aspect he will approach it in a way that best suits your style of learning. Paul has a way of installing confidence in your own ability without letting you get ahead of yourself, and his relaxed demeanor really helps in stressful situations. I always found it helps if you get along with your teachers and Paul is a easy going genuine bloke (even if he is a arsenal fan) a real pleasure to drive with, all in all a top banana. Cheers, Ant

Paul has been spot on the whole way through my experience of learning to drive, right up to the point where I left the test centre to take my test. He was always patient if I could not do something or if I did not understand something, he guided me through the whole process of driving step by step until he was 100% sure I had taken it in. I feel this was a big help in me achieving only 1 minor fault on my test. His style of teaching for me, worked very well indeed as I’d been with previous teachers who’s style of teaching I couldn’t seem to gel with. I would highly recommend learning to drive with Paul, it was a enjoyable but highly educational experience & now I have a driving licence! Thank you. Chris R

Paul says: Chris Rattclife took an intensive course with me over one week, this was 30 hours, Chris had driven before so to be able to complete his task was not to bad for him. You always worry when you have to spend many hours each day with one person, this was not the case with Chris, a very enjoyable time was had, by both sides. Chris will remain a good friend, as many people do. He passed first time 14th May 2012.

Paul says: “Dude” Henagan became my second adventure into the USA licence area. Dude being much older found making the changes much harder, also he was not able to practice as his time was up on his USA licence. Having said that Dude worked very very hard with me, and was a pleasure to teach, myself learning new things form around the world. Dude passed first time on 20th April 2012.

Paul did a great job preparing me for the UK practical driving test. I have driven abroad for 17 years, Paul helped me use my existing skills, knowledge and experience to better understand and adapt to the UK driving standards. Paul says: Allen Hawkins was the first pupil form Johnson House, in fact he is the manager there, Allen had a USA licence and needed to get to grips with the English roads and regulations, he picked it up quickly and practiced hard, very respective to tuition, this enabled a first time pass for Allen on 10th April 2012.

Learning to drive with Paul and SDL was great! Paul teaches in a relaxed and friendly way, giving you advice when you are hindering and praising your achivements. Paul says: Josh Leigh started from the beginning and had two lessons each week until he was confident to then go out with his parents, this speeded his learning up no end as he practiced each week what we covered in his lessons. Josh was fun to teach and very vibrant. He passed second time on 30th April 2012.

Having turned 17 in July and wanting to learn quickly, I contacted the Driving school and left them a message and was contacted back the same night. I was able to book 2 lessons a week and this helped me learn very quickly. Paul teaches to a very high standard and explains everything step by step so you are able to pick it up quickly. I needed a driving instructor who wouldn’t judge me on my past driving experience; I had a few bad driving habits and I needed to be taught the correct way to get my license. Paul was very understanding and patient he explained every thing in detail over and over again until I understood. Near when it was time for my actual testI had a mock driving test to show and explain what to expect on the day of my test. I am a 38 year old single mother of one boy who has repeatedly in my life attempted to pass my test. When I moved to Redhill/Reigate in Oct 2008 I was recommended to use SDL. I did not hold much hope but with the public transport I had to do something fast. I truly found it daunting to grasp the concepts of driving, I wanted to drive so badly but was as Paul told me “not a natural driver” I stuck with it (and he’s a tough cookie don’t expect Mr Nice Guy cause you won’t find him here). The great thing about Paul is when you need help they will go over and over and over and over your problem parts until you GET IT ! I passed on my second test in Feb 2009 and believe me I have no parking tickets no accidents and no scratches. I took extra motorway lessons with Paul … you won’t find a better teacher, he’s over qualified. Michelle Scotland

I found the driving school through my friends and once I started driving lessons I loved them all the way through to when I passed my test. I had great lessons and am sooo grateful because my instructor was so much fun to be around and very patient when I got frustrated with myself. I also had encouragement at the right times and was made to feel relaxed when driving, which helped me to concentrate. I really recommend the driving school because I felt very comfortable, had so many funny moments and enjoyed it very much.
